Epicenter was in Narpay district of Samarkand region. Earthquake coordinates: 39.93 degrees north latitude; 65.92 degrees east longitude. Magnitude M=2.9. Depth 15 km. 

The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 315 km in a southwestern direction.
