Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution “On measures to organize the American University of Technology in the city of Tashkent”.

According to the resolution, the American University of Technology will be established in Tashkent. 

The main activities of the university will focus on providing higher education in accordance with international standards in fields such as engineering, healthcare, information technology, architecture and design, economics and finance, and international relations.

The university will operate as a private higher educational institution and will commence its activities from the 2024/2025 academic year. Student admission will be based on a contractual basis, with admission criteria and tuition fees determined by the university itself.

Admission of applicants and certification of graduates will be conducted in accordance with the university’s requirements. The university will have full academic and organizational-financial independence.

Graduates of the university will receive diplomas from Arizona State University or another partnering foreign higher educational institution recognized in the United States. These diplomas will be recognized within Uzbekistan as well.

The university will also create opportunities for part of the educational process to be conducted in a foreign university under joint educational programs such as "3+1" for undergraduate studies, "1+1" for graduate studies, as well as other forms including distance learning.
