Amendments proposed to the law on State Duties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the recent plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on State Duties” was reviewed in its first reading.

In light of current reforms aimed at creating new administrative-territorial units and altering their boundaries, there is a need for re-registration of business entities and other legal entities.

The draft law proposes to exempt these entities from paying state duties in the event of re-registration due to changes in administrative-territorial units. According to the draft law, Article 15 of the Law on State Duties will be amended to include a third section, which stipulates that when a business entity or other legal entity changes its location (postal address) due to the creation or liquidation of new administrative-territorial units or changes in their boundaries, the state duty for re-registration will not be charged.

Deputies noted that the adoption of this draft law will help streamline the processes of state registration for business entities and other legal entities, reduce their dissatisfaction with state authorities, and ensure fair collection of state duties.

The draft law has been adopted by the deputies.
