Amendments and additions were made to the Law "On State Duty"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On State Duty" was considered.

The law envisages the exemption of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights and the State Fund for Entrepreneurship Support under the Ministry of Economy and Finance from paying state fees when applying to the courts.

In accordance with Articles 8, 9 and 10 of the current Law "On the State Duty", the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection and its territorial bodies, in accordance with the powers vested in them, are exempt from paying the state duty on claims submitted for consideration by the courts.

However, cases are known when complaints filed by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection against decisions of courts of first instance are returned by higher courts with the motive that they are not exempt from paying state fees in accordance with applicable law.

According to the amendments and additions, the State Fund for the Support of Entrepreneurial Activities and the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its territorial bodies are exempt from paying state fees on claims, applications and complaints filed with civil courts, economic and administrative courts.

The senators stressed that it serves to channel the funds saved from paying the state fee, allocated to the relevant state bodies for applying to the courts, for the development of entrepreneurship, ensuring more reliable protection of the rights of business entities and consumers.

The law was approved by the senators.
