Amendments and additions are being made to the Law “On State Duty”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the forty-eighth plenary meeting of the Senate, the Law “On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Duty” aimed at creating more favorable conditions for citizens when applying to administrative courts” was actively discussed.

It was noted that the country is taking measures to expand the ability of citizens to access justice and appeal illegal decisions, actions (inactions) of government bodies and other organizations and their officials to the court.

In particular, the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the new edition guarantees everyone the right to judicial protection of their rights and freedoms, to appeal to the court illegal decisions, actions (inaction) of state bodies and other organizations, and their officials.

At the same time, there is a need to further expand the possibilities of appealing to administrative courts, simplify the procedure for appealing illegal decisions, actions (inaction) of officials.

In this regard, amendments and additions are being made to the Law “On State Duty”, providing for the procedure for collecting state duty from the guilty party based on the results of consideration of the case, without first collecting state duty from citizens when appealing to administrative courts against decisions, actions (inactions) of state bodies and other organizations, their officials, as well as a change providing for a reduction in the amount of the specified state duty rate.

According to the senators, the Law serves to ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in court, to expand the ability of citizens to access justice and to appeal illegal decisions, actions (inactions) of government bodies and other organizations and their officials to administrative courts.

The law was approved by senators.
