Ambassador of Uzbekistan presented credentials to the President of Finland

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Finland, Timur Rakhmanov, presented his credentials to the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, on 1 April. This was reported by the news agency "Dunyo."

Following the official ceremony, a brief conversation took place during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Finnish cooperation. The main focus was on political interactions and expanding ties in various sectors.

The President of Finland expressed full support for the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting Finland's readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation in this direction.

Alexander Stubb also highly appreciated the level of political dialogue and trade-economic partnership between Helsinki and Tashkent. He emphasized Uzbekistan's significant role in Central Asia and confirmed Finland's interest in increasing cooperation with Uzbekistan in sectors such as energy, mining, construction, agriculture, education, and others.

It should be noted that Timur Rakhmanov arrived in Riga on 13 March 2024, to begin his duties as Ambassador of Uzbekistan. Prior to this, he served as the Consul General in Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024.

As Ambassador to Latvia, Timur Rakhmanov also presented his credentials to the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, on 17 June 2024, and to the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, on 11 February 2025.
