Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 and 22 May, the Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez, made a working visit to Khorezm region.

The Ambassador started her visit by visiting Urgench State University. There she met with Rector Bakhrom Abdullayev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sardor Khodjaniyazov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Gairat Urazboev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Zafar Ibragimov and Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology Zokhid Djumaniyozov. 

The parties discussed the university’s cooperation with the University of Poitiers and the development of the Erasmus + project to strengthen the teaching of the French language.

At the end of the visit, she held talks with the khokim of the Khorezm region Jurabek Rakhimov and his deputy Sherzod Ismailov, and then with the khokim of the city of Khiva Temur Davletov.

They discussed the prospects for the development of decentralized cooperation, as well as French investments in the region, especially in the fields of tourism, air transport and energy.
