Alternative Energy Enterprises’ Association created in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Association of the Enterprises of Alternative Fuel and Energy has been created in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan said.

The Association was created due to efforts of Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, GazMirPRO LLC, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and other organization.

Scientific-technical council was created under the Association. At organizational meeting of the council, it was noted that it will play important role of the new division, which will expand use of alternative fuel and energy in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the regulation of the council and its sections were approved and the members were elected.

New structure of the Association will carry out scientific-practical work on economic use of traditional energy and development of renewable energy.

It was noted that Uzbekistan successfully tested use of alternative energy in locally made and foreign cars and agriculture equipment. The state standards were adopted in this area.

According to specialists, as of 1 December 2011, some 300,000 cars were transferred to use of gas, which helped to save 13,000 tonnes of oil products or 26 billion soums, as well as cut emission to air by 30%.

In past several years, number of enterprises, producing renewable energy, is increasing in Uzbekistan, including joint ventures. In the result, the share of solar and wind energy is increasing in total volume of power production.

In order to develop the sector, MPs of Ecologic Movement and Social-Democratic Party Adolat at the Legislative Chamber are developing a draft law “On renewable sources of energy”. The country also develops National Strategy and State Programme on Development of Alternative Sources of Energy.

Uzbekistan is sunny country and there is great opportunity to develop solar and wind energy. Uzbekistan has 300 solar days a year and has good conditions for development of wind energy.

At the council meeting, it was said that adoption of the law “On renewable sources of energy” will help for further social-economic development of Uzbekistan and raising life standards.
