As earlier reported, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved the programme in the end of 2010.

The programme envisages conducting complex measures on expanding spectrum and quality of banking services with use of information communication technologies, including ensuring introduction of internet-banking service for legal entities and individuals by 2015 by all commercial banks of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Banking Association, Central Bank, commercial banks and the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI) were entrusted to develop and approve corresponding measures in the first quarter of 2011 and implement them within 2011-2015.
