Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The leader of the "Milliy Tiklanish" party, Alisher Kadyrov, has voiced support for the proposal to introduce a visa regime with Russia and tighten requirements for labor migrants.
"In light of the anticipated instability and a likely surge in the number of relocants, I believe that supporting the initiative of Russian politicians to introduce a visa regime for entry and exit from Russia, as well as tightening the requirements and oversight for our compatriots going abroad for work, is necessary not only for us but for the entire Central Asian region," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Kadyrov also emphasized the importance of knowing the Uzbek language and respecting national culture for all residents of Uzbekistan.
"We are convinced that everyone living in our country must know and respect the Uzbek language, culture, and local values," he noted.
Additionally, the politician highlighted the need to prepare labor migrants traveling abroad.
"Our compatriots going abroad for work should have a good command of the language, culture, and laws of the host country, as well as possess the necessary professional skills," Kadyrov stated.
He added that such measures would help protect the rights of migrants and prevent cases of discrimination.
"We want to assist those citizens who, unable to defend their rights, agree to humiliation and discrimination, or worse, are coerced into selling their lives, creating serious social, political, and economic burdens for Uzbekistan," the party leader concluded.
