Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Oliy Majlis deputy and head of the Milliy Tiklanish party Alisher Kadyrov expressed the opinion that owning a personal car should be expensive.

He proposed increasing the cost of services for private transport drivers, similar to the practice of China and Singapore.

He also expressed fears that with the reduction of duties after joining the WTO, Uzbeks will begin to massively purchase cheap foreign cars, which could create problems for the development of public transport.

After joining the WTO, cars will become even more accessible, and the issue of today's traffic in Uzbekistan will become a big problem for the economy and society, noted Alisher Kadyrov.
