Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The "Milliy Tiklanish" party plans to send a request to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport and Uzbekistan Airways to seek clarification on the safety of using Russian airspace, said the leader of the party, Alisher Kadirov.
"How safe is Russia’s airspace? The ‘Milliy Tiklanish’ party will send an official inquiry to the Ministry of Transport to get reasoned answers to this question," wrote Alisher Kadirov on his Telegram page.
The politician also emphasized that the national carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, must prioritize the safety of its passengers. Therefore, the inquiry will also be directed to the airline.
The concern stems from a recent incident in Kazakhstan, where a crash occurred involving an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft. The plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed while attempting to land at its destination airport. The tragedy claimed the lives of 38 out of 67 people aboard.
