Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 September 2024, Alexander Maslyakov, the famous Soviet and Russian television host, passed away at the age of 82. The official KVN channel on Telegram announced his death.
Maslyakov had been the host of the "Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful" (KVN) since 1964, becoming a symbol of the show, which gained popularity not only in Russia but also abroad.
Born on 24 November 1941, in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg), Maslyakov began his television career in 1964 while still a student at the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers. In addition to KVN, he hosted shows like "Hello, We Are Looking for Talents!" and "Merry Fellows."
For many years, Maslyakov was the president of the International KVN Union and headed the television creative association "AMiK," which produced the program.
Throughout his career, he received numerous awards, including the title of Honored Artist of Russia in 1994 and a full set of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
