Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus has announced the preliminary results of the presidential election.
According to the commission, Alexander Lukashenko secured 86.82% of the votes, as reported by BELTA.
The other candidates received the following percentages:
Oleg Gaidukevich: 2.02%
Anna Kanopatskaya: 1.86%
Sergey Syrankov: 3.21%
Alexander Khizhnyak: 1.74%
Additionally, 3.60% of voters chose the "against all" option.
The final election results will be officially announced during a press conference by the Central Election Commission of Belarus on 27 January.
