Al Jazira comes back to stun Nasaf
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UAE Pro League champions Al Jazira came back from an early two-goal deficit to beat 2011 AFC Cup winners Nasaf of Uzbekistan 4-2 on Wednesday for their first ever away victory in the AFC Champions League.

In a match that had been postponed by a day because of heavy snow, the team from Abu Dhabi were caught cold early on and fell 2-0 down after 18 minutes to a Fozil Musaev strike and a Sami Rubiya own goal.

But Juma Abdullah pulled a goal back before half-time and Abdulla Moussa equalised midway through the second half before late goals by Bare (Jader Volnei Spindler) and Ricardo Oliveira secured the three points for the visitors.

It was only the second win for Al Jazira in 19 AFC Champions League matches and it sent them to the top of the group on goal difference, ahead of Iranian side Esteghlal, who beat Al Rayyan 1-0 in Qatar on Tuesday.

The match had been delayed by nearly 24 hours after a blizzard left the Central Stadium pitch covered in snow. But when the action finally did get underway in sunny conditions in Karshi, the home team were quickly out of the blocks and took the lead after only two minutes.

A free-kick taken by Artur Gevorkyan caused confusion in the Al Jazira defence when goalkeeper Ali Khasif failed to punch the ball clear. In the scramble that followed, Ilkhom Shomuradov was denied by a desperate tackle but the ball fell to Musaev who shot home from close range.

Al Jazira should have levelled the score just a minute later. Goalkeeper Murotjon Zukhorov could only parry a powerful free-kick into the path of Ricardo Oliveira but the unmarked Brazilian put his attempt wide of the gaping net.

Nasaf remained in the ascendancy and got a deserved second in the 18th minute. Sami Rubiya attempted to cut out Gevorkyan's crossed from the right flank towards Shomuradov but he only succeeded in deflecting the ball into his own net.

Khasif kept the deficit at two with a magnificent double save in the 36th minute. The Al Jazira goalkeeper did well to parry a powerful shot by Andrejs Pereplotkins and then recovered quickly to turn Turaev's follow-up over the crossbar.

Buoyed by their goalkeeper's heroics, the visitors cut the deficit two minutes later. The Nasaf defence switched off on an Al Jazira free-kick and allowed an unmarked Juma Abdullah to head easily past Zukhorov.

Nasaf squandered several chances to restore their two-goal cushion and they would rue their wastefulness as Al Jazira got back on level terms midway through the second half. The visitors charged upfield after a Nasaf attack had broken down and the ball eventually found its way to Abdulla Moussa, who fired home from the left edge of the Nasaf box.

With 15 minutes to go, the UAE side went ahead for the first time after once again catching out the Nasaf defence on the counter attack. As the hosts scramble to clear their lines, the ball broke to substitute Bare, who calmly slid the ball past Zukhorov.

And Oliveira would complete the scoring with two minutes left as he slotted home easily after the ball had been laid off to him by the unselfish Bare.
