Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal qualified for the knock-out stages of the AFC Champions League for the first time in their history following a goalless draw with Al Kuwait at Al Kuwait Stadium in Kuwait City on Wednesday.
Al Hilal needed just a point from their final game in the three-team Group B to make it through to the last eight and they got what they came for in a dull match which saw few chances in the game.
Al Kuwait needed a victory to keep their slim chances of qualifying form the group alive before their last match on May 23 against Pakhtakor in Tashkent but the recently-crowned Kuwait league champions did not show any desire to win the match throughout the entire 90 minutes.
