Ahbor-Reyting affirms credit rating of Orien Finans Bank at uzB+ level
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ahbor-Reyting, a rating agency of Uzbekistan, affirmed credit rating of Private closed joint stock commercial bank Orien Finans at the level of uzB+ in line with national scale in the result of the monitoring of its activities in the third quarter of 2012. The outlook is positive.

The uzB+ rating means average level of solvency of Orient Finans Bank. Currently, the bank fulfills its financial liabilities in time and fully, but margin of safety is limited and ability of the bank to fulfill its liabilities depends from sustainable and favourable business environment and economic situation.

Business scale of Orient Finans Bank has positive growth trend. In the third quarter of 2012, the assets of the bank rose by 88.6% to 182.3 billion soums (96.7 billion soums in 3Q 2011). The loan portfolio of the bank grew by 67.02% to 20.8 billion soums (12.5 billion soums in 3Q 2011).

In the reporting period, taking into account fast growth of assets compared to loan portfolio, share of loan portfolio in total assets of the bank decreased from 12.9% in the third quarter to 11.42% in the quarter of 2012.

At the same time, other income-bearing assets of the bank rose 2.5 times to 30.7 billion soums. Inter-banking resources of the bank grew twice to 28.6 billion soums in the third quarter of 2012.

Quality of loan portfolio of Orient Finans Bank is rated as in acceptable level. It is worth to mention that Orient Finans had restructured and bad loans for 896.6 million soums and their share it total loan portfolio reached 4.31%.

In line with set classification, some 84.86% of the bank’s loans are rated as good, 11.23% as standard and 2.91% - as substandard. The bank’s reserves on possible loan losses made up 2.1% of the volume of crediting.

Liquid position of Orient Finans Bank is rated as in acceptable level. In the third quarter of 2012, total liquid assets of the bank rose by 78.31% to 65.57% of total assets of the bank (69.35% in 3Q 2012) in the reporting period. At the same time, current assets and current liabilities rose by 79.18% and 74.99% respectively in the third quarter of 2012. Coefficient of current liquidity of the bank jumped from 85.9% in the third quarter of 2011 to 87.96% in the third quarter of 2012.

It is necessary to note that due to high growth of deposit portfolio in the reporting period, ratio of loan portfolio to attracted resources from money markets decreased from 26.13% in the third quarter of 2011 to 18.98% in the second quarter of 2012. Term resource base of the bank rose five times year-on-year. Ratio of loan portfolio to term resource base of the bank dropped from 255.79% in the third quarter of 2011 to 88.1% in the third quarter of 2012.

Profitability of Orient Finans Bank is rated as in high level. In the reporting period, interest income and interest expanses of the bank rose 3.1 and 23.2 times respectively.

Net interest income of the bank grew by 69.03% in the reporting period, but its share in total operational income of Orient Finans Bank decreased from 21.12% in the third quarter of 2011 to 13.43% in the third quarter of 2012. Commission income and other operation income of the bank rose by 2.8 times and 7.8 times year-on-year and reached 82.17% and 4.4% of operational income of the bank (77.29% and 1.49% in 3Q 2011).

At the same time, total operational income of Orient Finans Bank grew 2.7 times year-on-year in the third quarter of 2012, while expenses of the bank rose 2.5 times. In the result, ratio of expenses to operational income of the bank rose from 70.28% in the third quarter of 2011 to 67.19% in the third quarter of 2012. Orient Finans Bank’s net income rose three times to 5.3 billion soums in the third quarter of 2012.

Profitability of assets and own capital of Orient Finans Bank rose by 3.77% and 30.7% (1.85% and 13.42% in 3Q 2011) respectively. Interest margin and interest spread of Orient Finans Bank grew and made up 5.66% and 8.4% (5.19% and 5.36% in 3Q 2011) respectively in the third quarter of 2012.
