Agricultural output in Uzbekistan makes up 1.407 trln. soums in 1Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2011, the total volume of agricultural output in Uzbekistan was 1.407 trillion soums or grew by 5.8% compared to the same period of 2010, of which output of plant-growing – 205.2 billion soums (+4.2%) and animal husbandry - 1.202 trillion soums (+6.2%).

Plant-growing


In January-March 2011, the share of crop production in total agricultural output was 14.6%.

As of 1 April 2011, total area under main crops in all types of farms (including winter crops for yield of 2011) was 1.919 million hectares, of which 1.416 million hectares – under wheat.

Animal husbandry


In January-March 2011, the share of animal production in total agricultural output was 85.4%.

As of 1 April 2011, the population of cattle in farms of all types increased by 542,300 heads or 6.4% (including cows – by 204,900 heads or 5.8%), sheep and goats - by 941,500 heads or 6.3%, pigs – by 3,400 heads or 3.6%, and poultry - by 5.036 million heads or 16.1%.

In the total stock the share of cattle in dekhkan farms was 93,5%, in private farms – 5.4%, cows – 94.6% and 4.6%, sheep and goats – 78.4 and 7.3, pigs – 77.4 and 9.8%, poultry – 61.9 and 12% respectively.

In the first quarter of 2011, farms of all types produced 316,500 tonnes of meat in living weight (6.5% more than in January-March 2010), 1.154 million tonnes of milk (7.1%), 657 million eggs (14.2%).

The share of dekhkan farms in total production of meat was 94%, milk – 95.4%, eggs – 46.5%, wool – 90.4%, karakuls – 74.6%, vegetables – 67.1%.

Private farms


As of 1 April 2011, the sown area of private farms (including winter crops for yield of 2011) was 1.541 million hectares, of which 1.312 million hectares under grains, 134,700 hectares under industrial crops (of which 122,500 hectares under cotton), 8,000 hectares under potatoes, 20,100 hectares under melons and gourds and 66,100 hectares under forage crops.

As of 1 April 2011, private farms had 493,700 heads of cattle (including 171,900 cows), 1.149 million sheep and goats, 9,800 pigs, 4.356 million heads of poultry.

In the reporting period, the number of cattle in private farms increased by 9,100 heads or 1.9% (including cows by 7,400 heads or 4.5%), poultry – by 1.092 million heads or 33.5%, the number of sheep and goats decreased by 7,800 heads or 0.7% compared to the same period of 2010.
