Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the official visit of the head of state to Russia, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Transport of Russia Vitaly Savelyev.

The prospects for the development of mutual cooperation in the transport sector were discussed at the meeting.

The parties agreed to increase the volume of cargo transportation by road and rail, joint development of international transport corridors, including the organization of cargo transportation between the two countries along the alternative corridor Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Caspian Sea - Russia, further expansion of cooperation in the field of digitalization of the transport sector and exchange of experience in this direction.

A new agreement was also reached to increase the number of regular flights on contractual routes Tashkent–Moscow.
