Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a visit by the delegation of the Uztextileprom Association to Urumqi, a meeting was held with Ding Haowu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the National Cotton Market, as well as Yan Baofu, President of the China Cotton and Yarn Trading Center.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to develop a roadmap for cooperation.

The Cotton and Textile Trading Center was officially opened on 26 June 2024, in Urumqi at the initiative of the Chinese leadership. The main tasks of the Center include conducting research from cotton planting to textile production, digitalizing the industry, creating a certification system for cotton and textile products, and ensuring the unity of the entire industrial chain. The Center consists of modern four-story buildings surrounded by industrial and commercial facilities and is located 10 km from Urumqi Airport.

The agreement includes the following key points:

- Opening a representative office of the Uztextileprom Association with free office space provided.

- Exchanging experience in the areas of production, quality, standards, digitalization, and trade of cotton and yarn.

- Implementing innovative projects and cooperation in the field of education.

- Organizing a permanent exhibition of Uzbek textiles.

- Facilitating the organization of visits by Chinese yarn buyers to Uzbekistan by the Chinese side.
