Agreements for 5 trln. soums and US$5bn signed at Industrial Fair
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Agreements for over 5 trillion soums have been signed within the Sixth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation exchange, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Shavkat Tulyaganov said.

Shavkat Tulyaganov stated that signing of contracts has not been completed, but it is certain, that contracts on supply of goods on internal agreements for over 5 trillion soums were signed.

The Uzbek official also added that within the fair agreements for exports of goods worth US$5 billion were inked.

The Sixth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange was held in Tashkent on 23-27 October 2012.

The fair is aimed at assisting business entities to optimize production, strengthening and developing inter-industry and intra-industry cooperation, inform companies on produced goods, helping to search business partners and signing agreements on supply of goods, including to exports.

This year, the fair was attended by over 1,100 producers from such areas as machinery, automobile, electrotechnical, construction industry, metallurgy, chemistry, petrochemical, food and light industries, pharmaceuticals, etc. They presented over 10,000 products.

According to the organizers, the event was attended by over 1,200 representatives of foreign companies and organizations.

Last year, agreements on supply of goods and services for over 3.5 trillion soums and export contracts for US$3.9 billion were signed.

Last year, the fair was attended by 1,000 companies. Some 70,000 visited the fair, including representatives of over 800 foreign companies. The fair presented 6,500 products, manufactured in Uzbekistan.

Purchase of goods, spare parts, raw materials and other products, manufactures in Uzbekistan, are carried out based on direct agreements without holding additional tenders.
