The banks’ assets made up 15.341 trillion soums at the end of the third quarter of 2009, or grew by 30% year-on-year. The assets of the banks comprised 11.798 trillion soums at the same period of 2008, the Central Bank said.

The commercial banks of Uzbekistan directed 1.391 trillion soums to support small and private businesses, which is up 1.7 times year-on-year.

The volume of population deposits rose to 2.565 trillion soums in nine months of 2009 against 1.52 trillion soums in the same period of 2009.
