Aggregate capital of banking system grows by 25% in 2013
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Aggregate volume of loans, issued by commercial banks to real sector of economy in 2013, grew by 30%, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on 17 January 2014.

President said that aggregate capital of commercial banks rose by 25% in 2013 and compared to 2000 – over 46 times.

He said that the level of capital adequacy makes up 24.3%, which exceeds requirements of the Basel committee on banking supervision three times (set requirement – 8%).

Liquidity of the banking system exceeds 65%, which is 2.2 times higher than internationally adopted assessment “high”. Share of internal sources in loan portfolio makes up 80%, President said.

Islam Karimov said that some 49.7% banking institutions fell to share of 100,000 adult population and 1,028 banking accounts fell to share of 1,000 habitants. He said that this is high level in line with international norms.
