Aggregate capital of banking system grows by 24.3% in 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Aggregate capital of banking system of Uzbekistan grew by 24.3% in 2012 and twice in last three years, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The session summed up results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan for 2012 and approved main perspectives of economic programme for 2013.

Uzbek leader stated that currently capital adequacy level makes up 24%, which exceeds international standards three times. Liquidity of banking system exceeds 65% in 2012, which twice more compared to required minimal level.

Islam Karimov said that currently 28 commercial banks have positive international ratings compared to just 13 in 2010.

Uzbek leader said that the country also pays attention to improving investment activities of the banking system. The growth of the volume of loans, issued to real sector of economy, rose 1.3 times in 2012 compared to previous year. Over 76% of issued loans were long-term loans with over three year terms.

In 2012, the growth of population deposits at the bank made up 34.6% and in last ten years – 40 times. In 2012, over 20% of all investments in the country were investments of populations.
