Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan gets acquainted with the tourism potential of Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by adviser to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Razzak Daud visited Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the Pakistani guests also visited the ancient and majestic Samarkand. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the Pakistani delegation in Samarkand and exchanged views on the further expansion of bilateral cooperation and its mutual prospects between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The Pakistani delegation got acquainted with the investment attractiveness, tourism potential, as well as the medical and pharmaceutical potential of Samarkand. During the talks, the parties discussed the development of air traffic, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, organizing a mutual exchange of experience in higher educational institutions.

The guests were informed about the conditions created for foreign students studying at the Samarkand State Medical Institute, in particular, 130 Pakistani students. During the meeting it was noted that in the near future another 120 students and 10 professors from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will visit Samarkand.

This testifies to the fact that relations between the two countries are progressively developing and entering a new stage. During the visit, the guests visited the grave of the great hadith scholar Imam Al-Bukhari and the International Research Center to get acquainted with his life and great spiritual heritage.

The Pakistani guests were told that the spiritual heritage of Al-Bukhari plays an important role in educating the young generation in a spirit of devotion to values and traditions. The representatives of the delegation noted that Pakistanis have a great interest in Uzbekistan, in particular, in visiting shrines associated with the names of great scientists.

This is one of the biggest dreams of every Pakistani. Speaking about strengthening bilateral ties, the Pakistani guests noted that joint efforts to develop tourism in pilgrimage will yield good results. After that, the Pakistani delegation also visited a number of Samarkand sights.
