Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President "On measures for the further development of the mental health service of the population" was adopted.

According to the resolution, in order to radically improve the mental health service of the population, the following is provided:

- introduction of a unified vertical management system for the provision of specialized psychiatric and narcological care;

- integration of the mental health service into primary health care facilities;

- full provision of medicines for persons suffering from mental disorders, in accordance with the need;

- Strengthening the mental health of the population, especially children and adolescents.

From 1 July 2023, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Narcology will be transformed into the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Mental Health.

From 1 August 2023, the following states will be introduced:

- a medical psychologist - in district (city) multidisciplinary central polyclinics;

- a suicidologist - in neuropsychiatric dispensaries that do not have inpatient beds, and in psychiatric hospitals that have dispensaries;

- a doctor in the emergency department, a psychiatrist on duty, a medical psychologist or a psychotherapist within the current states - in neuropsychiatric dispensaries with inpatient beds, as well as in psychiatric hospitals.

From the 2023/2024 academic year, admission to clinical residency and master’s programs in the specialties "Psychiatry", "Medical Psychology" and "Narcology" is carried out exclusively on the basis of a state grant within the general admission parameters,

From 1 July 2023, the amount of the allowance will increase from 25 percent to 50 percent of the official salary of psychiatrists working in district (city) multidisciplinary central polyclinics, as well as psychiatrists, medical psychologists, psychotherapists and suicidologists working in psychiatric medical institutions.
