ADB to issue US$26m to improve water supply in Jizzakh region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan is planning to attract preferential loan of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to reconstruct water intake facility Koytash of Gallyaaral district and water supply networks of Zafarabad and Arnasay districts.

Information service of Jizzakh region administration said that the ADB will issue preferential loan for US$26 million.

It is planned that US$5.7 million of loan will be used to purchase equipment and US$19 million to construction and assembly works.

Within the project, it is expected that 55 km of water supply networks will be reconstructed and 33 km of new water supply networks will be constructed.

The reconstruction and construction works will last 3.5 years and will be completed in 2016.
