Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Saudi company ACWA Power Company will build three wind power plants in Kungrad region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The President of Uzbekistan signed three resolutions on the implementation of investment projects for the construction of three wind power plants.

The capacity of each wind power plant will be 500 MW. Electricity storage systems with a capacity of 100 MW each and overhead power lines will also be built.

The total cost of investment in these projects will be almost US$2.4 billion.

JSC National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan has accepted an obligation to guarantee the purchase of electricity from these stations and to pay for it for 25 years.
