About US$473m remittances transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Money transfers for US$473 million were transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan in the second quarter of 2009, the Bank of Russia said.

According to the bank’s data, Uzbekistan was leader on total volume of transactions in the second quarter of 2009. Uzbekistan was followed by Tajikistan (US$388 million) and Ukraine (US$312 million).

The Bank of Russia said Russian individual residents directed US$219 million to Uzbekistan, while non-residents sent US$258 million in the reporting period.

Meanwhile, Russia received US$62 million from Uzbekistan in money transfers.

The Bank of Russia said the country received US$423 million and sent US$2.307 billion remittances in the second quarter of 2009, of which US$2.115 billion were directed to the CIS states.

The Central Bank of Russia monitors such money transfer systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, AziyaExpress, ALLYUR, Blitz, Bystraya Pochta, Guta Sprint, Zolotaya Korona and LIDER.
