About 6,000 Uzbek citizens to perform Umrah pilgrimage in spring

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 6,000 Muslims from Uzbekistan will make Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia during spring season of 2013, the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said that the process of submission of applications to Umrah for spring period and Hajj has been completed.

It added that some 6,000 pilgrims from Uzbekistan will visit holy sights of Mecca and Medina. Uzbekistan booked modern hotels for pilgrims, which are locating near holly sights of two cities.

The committee said that mainly elder persons were selected to perform Umrah pilgrimage due to “weather conditions in Saudi Arabia and national mentality”.
