About 54.8% of Uzbek trade falls to share of Europe
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
About 54.8% of total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2009 fell to share of Europe. The share of Europe in Uzbekistan foreign trade increased by 0.2 percentage point year-on-year.
Asia attained 42.5% of total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the first three months of this year or grew by 1.1 percentage point year-on-year.
Uzbekistan’s trade with American continent slipped from 3.7% in the first quarter of 2008 to 2.5% in the same period of 2009, while the share of Africa remained unchanged at the level of 0.2%.
Share of Australia and Oceania in foreign trade of Uzbekistan fell from 0.1% in January-March 2008 to 0 in the same period of 2009, Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan grew by 8.1% year-on-year to US$4.78 billion in the first quarter of 2009.
