Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 5,000 saxaul seedlings were planted on an area of 11,377 hectares in Jeyran nursery in Bukhara region.

The organizers of the event within the framework of the “Yashil Vatan Uchun” project were the Department of Ecology of the Bukhara Region, the Department of Forestry, the Regional Council of Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, Regional Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, khokimiyat of Karaulbazar district.

About 200 students from 5 state universities in the region took part in the event.

It should be noted that in the spring season of 2024, more than 9 million trees are planned to be planted in the Bukhara region as part of the nationwide project “Yashil Makon”. So far, about 6 million tree seedlings have been planted.

Earlier about 10,000 saxaul seedlings were planted on an area of 10 hectares in the Aral Sea region.
