The greatest number of enterprises and institutions was registered in trade and catering (26.8% of total registered enterprises), agriculture (23.7%, excluding farms), industry (11.3%) and construction (7.8%).
In the total number of registered enterprises, the share of enterprises with non-state form of ownership was 93%, of which 59.7% - private and dekhkan farms, 22.7% - private enterprises, 0.9% - enterprises with participation of foreign capital, 0.4% - joint-stock companies, 16.3% - other enterprises.
The number of newly registered enterprises and institutions was 10,700 in January-March 2009. Their significant number was marked in Tashkent city (16% of total registered enterprises in the country), Ferghana region (10.5%), Andijan region (9.7%) and Kashkadarya region (7.1%).
In the sectoral structure of newly created enterprises, about 29.5% fell to share of trade and catering, 24.5% - agriculture, 14.4% - industry.
In the reporting period, 5,900 enterprises and institutions were liquidated. The significant number of liquidated enterprises was marked in Tashkent city (14.7% of total enterprises liquidated in Uzbekistan), Surkhandarya region (14.4%), Kashkadarya region (9.5%) and Tashkent region (9.1%).
In the sectoral structure of liquidated enterprises, about 31,8% fell to the share of agriculture sector, 31.3% - trade and catering and 12.3% - industry.
