Largest number of enterprises and institutions was registered in agriculture (59.6% of total registered enterprises), trade and catering (14.2%), industry (5.9%) and construction (4.1%), the committee said.
In the total number of registered enterprises, the share of non-state enterprises was 93%, of which 56% were private and dekhkan farms, 20.8% - private enterprises, 0.9% - enterprises with participation of foreign capital, 0.4% - joint-stock companies and 21.9% - other enterprises.
About 38,600 enterprises were registered during 2008. Large number of enterprises was registered in Tashkent city (17.1% of total registered enterprises in Uzbekistan), Ferghana region (9.6%), Kashkadarya region (8%) and Andijan region (7.9%).
Over 37% of newly created enterprises were created in agriculture sector, 24.8% in trade and catering and 11.9% in industry, the committee added.
In the reporting period, about 25,000 enterprises and institutions were liquidated, including 2,300 enterprises were liquidated voluntarily. The significant number of enterprises was liquidated in Tashkent city (16.6% of total enterprises liquidated in Uzbekistan), Kashkadarya region (8.8%), Andijan region (8.6%) and Ferghana region (8.6%).
In the sectoral structure, about 31.8% of liquidated enterprises fell to share of trade and catering, 30.3% - agriculture and 14.0% - industry.
