Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first quarter of 2024, according to the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, 318 people were brought to administrative responsibility for sexual harassment.

Under Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Sexual Harassment), 318 people were brought to administrative responsibility: 97 of them were fined, 221 were sentenced to administrative arrest.

Under Article 59-2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Family Violence), 4,343 people were brought to administrative responsibility: 2,344 people were fined, 1,999 people were sentenced to administrative arrest.

Under Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Family Violence), 134 people were convicted: 51 were sentenced to imprisonment, 83 to other types of punishment.

Under Article 141-3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Disclosure of information discrediting honor and dignity), 40 people were brought to criminal liability, of whom 13 were sentenced to imprisonment, 27 to other types of punishment.

It should be noted that in 2023, amendments were made to the Administrative Code with the addition of articles on sexual and family violence, and articles relating to family violence and disclosure of information that infringes on the honor and dignity of an individual were added to the Criminal Code.
