About 15,000 tonnes of freight transported via Navoi airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 14,800 tonnes of freight and 4,200 passengers (up 13.5% year-on-year) were transported through Navoi city international airport in the first quarter of 2010.

The Uzbekistan Economy Ministry said fourteen flights per week were carried out in a week via the airport in Navoi. The flights were carried out to Bangkok, Delhi, Mumbai, Frankfurt, Seoul, Brussels and Milan.

The Government of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Korean Air are creating International inter-modal logistic center at the Navoi international airport.

The Center will be used as trans-continental forwarding hub, uniting Eastern and Southern Eastern Asia with Europe, Middle East and the CIS countries.
