Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The number of labor migrants from Uzbekistan in Russia currently stands at about 1 million. This was announced by the press secretary of the president, Sherzod Asadov.

According to him, the number of labor migrants from Uzbekistan in Russia has sharply decreased. In 2016, he noted, there were between 4 to 6 million migrants from Uzbekistan in Russia.

The decrease in the number of labor migrants is linked to the effectiveness of economic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan. 

Asadov reminded that during the state visit of the President of Russia to Tashkent, the parties concluded a series of agreements in the field of labor migration.
