Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Manchester City defender Abdulkodir Khusanov has been voted the club’s Player of the Month for February, setting a new record in fan voting.

The Uzbekistan international, who joined City six weeks ago on a four-and-a-half-year contract, has quickly won over supporters with his pace, tenacity, and defensive reliability under Pep Guardiola.

These attributes helped the 21-year-old earn a record number of votes, surpassing stars like Erling Haaland and Joško Gvardiol.

In early February, Khusanov scored his first goal for the club, equalizing against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup—a match that ended in a 2-1 victory for City.

He then played the full 90 minutes in matches against Newcastle, Liverpool, and Tottenham, finishing the month with two wins and two clean sheets against the Magpies and Spurs. Even in the defeat to Liverpool, the Uzbek defender was among the standout performers.

Khusanov continues to adapt to English football, and his potential under Guardiola is only beginning to unfold.
