Abdulaziz Kamilov holds talks with European Council representative
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy, held talks with Pedro Lourtie, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the European Council, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a constructive exchange of views on the prospects for expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, as well as regional collaboration.
On behalf of the European Council leadership, Pedro Lourtie expressed gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for initiating the first-ever Central Asia – European Union Summit, scheduled to take place in Samarkand on 3–4 April.
Both parties highlighted that the upcoming summit will mark an important milestone in strengthening relations between Central Asia and the EU, creating new opportunities to enhance trade, investment, transport, digitalization, security, and other key areas of cooperation.
