Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President, has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic at the rank of Officer (Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana).

The official announcement was made in a press release by the General Secretariat of the President of Italy and published on the government website Gazzetta Ufficiale.

Kamilov was recognized alongside other distinguished figures from both Italy and abroad.

The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is the highest honor bestowed by Italy. Established on 3 March 1951, it is awarded to both Italian citizens and foreign nationals for outstanding contributions in fields such as literature, the arts, economics, philanthropy, public service, and humanitarian efforts. Recipients are selected by the President of Italy with the consent of the Prime Minister, and the award is typically presented on two national holidays — Republic Day (2 June) and Constitution Day (on 27 December).
