Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 June, a young man stabbed a female student he knew and then wounded himself with a knife in Karshi.

According to the press service of Kashkadarya region prosecutor’s office, the incident occurred on the territory of Karshi State University. A quarrel arose between the guy and the girl, after which he took out a knife and inflicted eight wounds on her. He then plunged the knife into his stomach.

The girl was hospitalized and is under medical supervision.

The guy was detained, but his condition is not reported.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 97 through Article 25 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan - attempted premeditated murder.
