Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 May, 2024, a working meeting of the heads of border control authorities of the border departments of the CIS member states was held in Tashkent. Its main topic was a discussion of areas for improving border control in the face of increasing threats to border security.

The organizer of the planned event of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops was the Border Troops of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by representatives of the border departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Coordination Service of the SKPV.

The participants of the working meeting exchanged views on current issues of cooperation between border control authorities and discussed areas for improving joint activities, including the development of information exchange and countering the entry into the territory of CIS member states of persons involved in terrorist and extremist activities.
