A week-long training seminar for deputy khokims on tourism and sports development takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10-14 November, a week-long training seminar for deputies (advisers) on tourism and sports development was held in the capital at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the week they were trained to apply new approaches to the development of sports and tourism in accordance with modern requirements. The event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov. “At the initiative of the head of state, comprehensive measures are being taken to develop tourism and sports, effectively use the country’s tourism potential, improve the health of the population, physical health and a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

“In today’s difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the President paid special attention to tourism and sports. As a result, economic entities in a difficult economic situation in the tourism sector were provided with benefits and preferences. At the same time, Resolution No. 6099 "On measures for the widespread introduction of a healthy lifestyle and the further development of mass sports." “Priority was given to walking, running, futsal, badminton, cycling, streetball and workout,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. Aziz Abdukhakimov said that deputy khokims and advisers for the development of tourism and sports are direct representatives of the head of state in the region in these areas.

He stressed that the priority is to work closely with the population, inform the general public about the content of their policies, including close cooperation with the population and entrepreneurs in regions, districts, quarters, villages, so that the conditions created for them are implemented, and not on paper. “We must not forget that this post, introduced at the initiative of the President, should bear fruit tomorrow. The aim of this training seminar is to expand your practical and theoretical knowledge,” he added.

During the training seminar, the leaders were familiarized with the activities of the ministries and departments that will closely cooperate with them in the implementation of the tasks assigned to them, and interaction with them was further expanded. In particular, during a visit to each ministry and department, the first head of the organization explained in detail the general directions of activity, the tasks of the organization, and the work plan. During the seminar, the participants visited the Samarkand and Tashkent regions, where they got acquainted with the activities of exemplary tourist and sports facilities.

During the classes, the participants were familiarized with the work being done in the region to create favorable conditions for tourists, increase their flow, ensure the rapid development of modern tourist infrastructure, popularize physical culture and sports in the regions and attract citizens to mass sports. It is noteworthy that on the last day of the event, live communication with the media was organized for deputy khokims (advisers) and heads of departments and departments. During the interactive training, the journalists shared their recommendations with regional leaders on what to look for when promoting the industry, how to increase the effectiveness of cooperation, the image of a leader, how to act in problem situations, and made interesting suggestions.

Sports and tourism specialists also contacted the media with questions and suggestions. As a result of the event, an agreement was reached on the further development of effective cooperation between media and organizations in the field of sports and tourism. At the end of the training seminars, based on the knowledge and skills acquired by the leaders, work has to be done before the end of this year to further develop tourism and sports in their regions, taking into account the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, to develop and submit a draft action plan for the first half of 2021.

In their work plans, they focused on the directions identified by the President. In particular, to improve the tourist infrastructure in economic, environmental, social, cultural and other areas, having studied the potential of the regions, to take practical steps to create tourist zones and clusters, “tourist streets”, “tourist villages”. Particular attention will be paid to creating conditions for the development of sports, taking into account the needs of the population in healthy nutrition, the formation of a modern material and technical base for doing physical culture and sports in the region, especially in educational and other institutions.

In addition, it was emphasized the provision of assistance in the coordination of training, retraining and advanced training of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports, taking measures to promote the organization of production of goods for physical culture and sports.

It should be noted that the seminar was organized in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 6002 dated May 28, 2020 "On urgent measures to support the tourism industry to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic", Presidential Decree No. 4755 dated 19.06. 2020 "On additional measures for the development of the tourism sector in strict compliance with the requirements of the enhanced sanitary and epidemiological safety", the responsibility and accountability of the deputy (advisers) for the development of tourism and sports of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions and the city of Tashkent will be increased.
