A Victim of Human Trafficking Returned to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A woman who fell victim to human trafficking has been returned to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan, Dunyo news agency reported.
According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Almaty, the citizen, S.D., found herself in difficult circumstances and sought assistance in returning to her homeland. She had suffered at the hands of individuals involved in human trafficking.
Thanks to coordinated operational efforts by Uzbek diplomats and Kazakh law enforcement agencies, the woman was rescued and provided with temporary shelter.
On August 11, S.D. was flown back to Uzbekistan on the Almaty–Tashkent route as part of the charitable initiative “Return to Homeland,” which is being conducted from July 30 to August 30.
