Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A tragic road accident took place in Hatirchin district of Navoi region, Uzbekistan, resulting in the death of an eight-year-old girl.

According to the Traffic Police Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Navoi region, the incident occurred on 1 July around 19:20 local time on the 127th kilometer of the 4R48 highway. An electric car, BYD Song Plus, struck the child who was crossing the road.

Two Song Plus vehicles approached the pedestrian crossing at high speed and did not slow down despite the presence of pedestrians, including children, on the road.

One of the vehicles passed through the crossing, causing the girl to fall onto the roadway. The second vehicle then collided with her. As a result of the injuries sustained, the girl passed away at the scene of the incident.
