A sharp jump in deaths due to COVID-19 recorded in Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The number of deaths from coronavirus in Japan increased sharply in winter, TASS reports, citing relevant statistics from local authorities.

In November, 2,985 patients died from the effects of COVID infection, in December - 7,622, and in the first 10 days of January, 3,145 deaths were recorded across the country. If the trend continues, more than 10,000 people could die from the coronavirus in the first month of winter.

In total, during the pandemic, approximately 30 million people in Japan became infected, more than 60 thousand deaths were recorded.

Despite the current situation, there are no restrictions due to COVID-19 in Japan. Residents are encouraged to wear masks in public places.
