Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President signed Resolution “On additional measures for comprehensive socio-economic development and employment of the population of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.”
 
In 2024, 421 investment projects will be implemented in the region for a total amount of 6.5 trillion soums.
 
With the help of banks, it is planned to attract 86.6 thousand entities to business, of which through:
ensuring self-employment – 64 thousand;
registration of individual entrepreneurs – 5.8 thousand;
business entities – 6.5 thousand;
Dekhkan farms – 10.3 thousand.
 
It is also planned to create about 1.6 thousand service facilities, as a result of which 2.9 thousand jobs will be created.

To develop roadside infrastructure, land plots with a total area of 19.5 hectares will be put up for auction.

Besides:

at the expense of credit resources from the Business Development Bank, 320 billion soums will be allocated for the implementation of a comprehensive program to support small businesses;

Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC will allocate 50 billion soums to support business entities;

Banks will allocate 60 billion soums to provide microloans to self-employed persons paying social tax for a period of up to one year in the amount of up to 5 million soums through “First Step into Business” bank plastic cards, in particular:

"National Bank" - 15 billion soums;

"Uzpromstroybank" and Microcreditbank - 9 billion soums each;

“Asakabank” – 8 billion soums;

“Business Development Bank”, “Agrobank”, “People’s Bank”, “Turonbank” and “Aloqabank” – 4 billion soums each.

Enterprises implementing investment projects in export-oriented and import-substituting production based on innovative technologies in Karakalpakstan will be given the status of participant in the Nukus free economic zone.
 
Investment agreements with participants of the Nukus FEZ who have not fulfilled their investment obligations will not be cancelled. Deprivation of their status as a zone participant will be carried out exclusively through judicial proceedings.
 
Plowing tractors with power over 200 hp. and cotton picking machines (HS codes 8432-8437, 8701), from the date of issue of which no more than 5 years have passed, imported from abroad by agricultural enterprises and business entities for their needs, are exempt from customs duties and recycling fees until 1 January 2026. Business entities are allowed to pay VAT with a delay of up to 270 days from the date of their clearance in the “import” customs regime.
 
The staffing table of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the People's Republic of China will include the staffing position of a separate representative of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
 
From 1 April, flights will be launched in the directions Istanbul - Nukus - Tashkent, Samarkand - Nukus - Istanbul.
