Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A registration point for IMEI codes of mobile devices has opened at Tashkent International Airport, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said.

It is located in the arrivals hall and covers an area of 8 square meters.

The site was allocated through electronic auctions on the e-auksion.uz platform, where the winner was the Republican Center for Management of Telecommunications Networks of Uzbekistan. At this point, passengers can quickly register the IMEI codes of their devices, imported from abroad or new ones, immediately upon arrival.

The cost of registration for residents is 68,000 soums and is valid for 30 calendar days, for non-residents - 60 calendar days.

In accordance with the legislation of Uzbekistan, registration must be completed within these periods after activating the local operator’s SIM card. If registration is not completed, the provision of mobile communication services will be temporarily suspended to the user.
