Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s weightlifting championship will be held from 28 March to 3 April at the arena of the University of Physical Culture and Sport of Chirchik.

Currently, more than 280 athletes from all regions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan have applied for participation in the upcoming national championship. This is reported by the NOC of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that in the history of the championships of Uzbekistan among adults there were no such indicators before. This suggests that interest in this Olympic sport is growing, and the upcoming championship promises to be exciting. It is also noteworthy that the men’s team will compete in the tournament, which is currently at the training camp.

Winners and prize-winners will be determined in weight categories approved by the International Weightlifting Federation, i.e. in 10 weight categories for men and women.
