Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On additional measures to accelerate reforms in the agricultural and food sector” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, the Project Office “Center for Projects in the Agricultural and Food Sector” (Project Office) is created in the form of a state institution.

The project office provides information to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the state of reform and measures taken in the agricultural and food sector, factors impeding the implementation of reforms, as well as ways to eradicate them.

Ministry of Agriculture and Project Office:

in 2024:

- measures will be taken to create three modern laboratories in Samarkand, Ferghana and Tashkent regions that meet international requirements in order to check the quality and increase the share of exports of fruits and vegetables and food products.

starting from the 2024/2025 academic year:

- the system for improving the knowledge of students and the qualifications of teachers of higher educational institutions in the agricultural sector will be improved, as well as assessing the activities of scientists at their research institutions based on international experience;

- international accreditation of areas of education at the Tashkent State Agrarian University will be carried out step by step.

The project office is given the right to engage experienced specialists from relevant ministries and departments, organizations of their system, as well as research institutions on a contractual basis, based on market conditions.
